The Tianjin FAW Xiali, produced by Tianjin FAW, was a compact car that gained significant popularity as a taxi in China during the 1980s and 1990s. Its affordability and reliability made it a common sight on the streets of cities like Beijing and Tianjin.

The Xiali was based on the Daihatsu Charade, a model that Tianjin FAW began assembling under license in 1986. The hatchback version, known as the TJ7100, entered production in 1988, followed by the sedan variant, the TJ7100U, in 1990. These models were equipped with 1.0 and 1.3-liter engines, making them suitable for urban transportation needs.

In the early 2000s, the Xiali brand faced challenges due to declining sales and increased competition. The last models, including the Xiali N7 subcompact SUV, were produced until 2019.
